Joy Awarded $3-Million In Federal Funding For Water Project

The Village of Joy awarded $3-million in federal funding. Western Illinois Congresswoman Cheri Bustos making the announcement today.  Joy will receive a $1.53-million loan from USDA Rural Development along with a $1.47-million grant. The money will be used to construct a new water treatment facility. The new facility will include an emergency generator, rehabilitation and chemical treatment of wells, installation and replacement of water lines, a ground storage tank and aerator, elevated water tower and the replacement of 100 residential water meters.
