Domestic Troubles In Rural Viola Leads To Charges Against QC Man

A domestic troubles complaint in rural Viola leads to the arrest of a Rock Island man on multiple charges. Francis D. Alter was taken into custody yesterday for driving suspended, reckless driving, child endangerment, driving unsafe equipment and improper lane usage. A Mercer County Sheriff’s Department press release indicates Alter left the Viola area driving a truck with a female and two young children inside.  It was reported that during the domestic incident, Alter struck items in the yard, leading to a flat tire on the vehicle.  Responding deputies located the disabled vehicle’s trail into Rock Island County where he was eventually arrested. Alter was transported to the Mercer County Jail, where he was later released after posting pond.
