The Orion Chargers were stopped in the first round at the Class 2A Riverdale Volleyball Sectional Monday night. Lena-Winslow topped Orion in straight games, 25-17, 25-17. Orion closes out the season with a 33-5 record. In the other semi-final, Galena beat Forreston 29-27, 25-21. Galena (32-5) will play Lena-Winslow (31-5) in the championship match Wednesday night. At the United Sectional, Eureka beat Bureau Valley 25-17, 25-12 and Deer Creek-Mackinaw stopped the West Central Heat 25-19, 25-12. Eureka will play Deer Creek-Mackinaw Wednesday night for that title.
In Class 1A Sectional action at Peoria Heights, Wethersfield kept rolling stopping Lewistown 25-23, 25-13. Hartsburg-Emden handled Annawan 25-9, 25-14. Wethersfield (36-1) will meet Hartsburg-Emden (33-4) in that championship match Wednesday.
