Aledo Man Arrested Following Henderson County Shooting Investigation

An Aledo man is facing felony charges following a shooting investigation in rural Henderson County.

Dakota Lockmiller, 20, was arrested and charged with two Class X felony counts of aggravated battery with a firearm on Tuesday, according to a press release from the Henderson County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies say the incident was not initially reported to law enforcement, but information later became available through witnesses and other sources, prompting the sheriff’s office to initiate an investigation.

During the investigation, deputies say they conducted multiple interviews with witnesses, victims, and individuals identified as suspects. Investigators say they also gathered and reviewed evidence to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Based on the information, probable cause was established, and an arrest warrant was issued for Lockmiller.

Lockmiller is scheduled to appear in Henderson County Circuit Court on Wednesday.
