Two people have been arrested following an investigation into an alleged illicit drug operation in Aledo that recovered 250 grams of methamphetamine and 15 MDMA pills.
32-year-old Emily Colson of Aledo and 45-year-old Daniel Rice of Muscatine were taken into custody as a result of the investigation by the Aledo Police Department and Quad Cities Metropolitan Enforcement Group (MEG).
Colson is charged with a Class X felony of possession with intent to deliver 100-400 grams of methamphetamine and a Class X felony of possession of 100-400 grams of methamphetamine. She appeared in Mercer County Circuit Court on Friday, where she was granted pretrial release. Colson will return to court for a preliminary hearing on Oct. 20.
Rice is charged with a Class X felony of methamphetamine trafficking. He is currently being held at the Muscatine County Jail.
According to a press release from the Aledo Police Department, Aledo Police and Quad Cities MEG agents collected enough evidence to get a search warrant for a residence in Aledo. During the search of the residence, a package was located that contained 250 grams of methamphetamine and 15 MDMA pills.
The Mercer County Sheriff’s Office, United States Postal Inspection Service and Muscatine Police assisted with the investigation.
