Aledo Breaks Ground On Aquatics Center

A groundbreaking ceremony for the Aledo Aquatics Center was held on Wednesday afternoon.

The new Aquatics Center will feature a splash pad, pool, locker rooms, and a concession stand.

Aledo Mayor Chris Hagloch says it feels good to get the construction process started.

Last month, the City of Aledo approved issuing up to $4 million in General Obligation Bonds for the project. The project’s estimated cost is $6.4 million. The City of Aledo has raised $5.3 million for the project. Those donations are expected to be received over five years and are planned to cover the repayment process.

The City hopes to open the new facility in May 2026. It is being built at the former Aledo Farmers Grain and Coal site.
