2 Sent To Hospital With Lacerations, Man Arrested Following New Windsor 911 Call

A man is in police custody after two people were found with lacerations by Mercer County sheriff’s deputies in New Windsor on Wednesday.

According to a press release from the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to a 911 call in New Windsor on Wednesday morning. On their way to the scene, they found a man covered in blood with multiple lacerations. Then, upon arriving at the scene, they located a woman with a laceration. Both were transported to St. Mary’s Hospital in Galesburg.

The man that the deputies encountered is now in police custody, and criminal charges against him are pending.

The Sheriff’s Department says the incident remains under investigation and the suspect’s name will be released when formal charges are filed.

The Mercer County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by New Windsor Police, Illinois State Police Crime Scene Services, Tri-County Ambulance, New Windsor Fire and GHAS Ambulance.
