The City of Aledo’s Independence Day celebration will look different next month.
To honor the United States’ 250th anniversary, the city has added some new features and events to the schedule around the holiday.
On July 3, the city will host a parade at 6 p.m. Then, on July 4, Aledo will hold its traditional 4th of July community events, featuring a pancake breakfast hosted by the Aledo Fire Department, the Dr. Ford Frog Races in Central Park, and music in the Central Park Band Shell. There will be a bell ringing that is part of a nationwide event to honor the original 13 colonies. The city is also hosting a festival at the Mercer County Fairgrounds, featuring live music and entertainment from 3 to 10 p.m. on July 4. Aledo’s annual fireworks show will include a drone display on the evening of July 4.
Aledo Mayor Chris Hagloch says the city’s America 250 Commission has been working hard.
