Rockridge erased a six-run deficit to Brimfield-Elmwood, but fell in eight innings 7-6 in the semifinals of the IHSA 2A IVC Sectional in Chillicothe on Wednesday.
With the Rockets (29-8) trailing 6-0 entering the top of the sixth inning, Rockridge rallied for five runs in the frame to pull within 6-5. Cullen Schwigen hit a solo home run to lead off the inning, Owen Steele drove in a run with an RBI groundout, Rylan Daly delivered a two-run double, and Quentin Smith came through with a two-out RBI single to make it a one-run game.
Steele tied the game with a sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh.
The Indians (31-5) won the game in the bottom of the eighth with a two-out RBI double by Dane Fagerburg to advance to Saturday’s sectional championship game.
