Mercer County surrendered two late runs to fall to Alleman 6-5 in baseball on Monday.
The Golden Eagles (3-19) scored two runs in the top of the fifth inning to take their first lead of the day, 5-4, but the Pioneers (18-15) answered with two runs of their own in the bottom of the fifth to take the lead for good.
Adam VanMeigham and Truman Marner each drove in two runs for Alleman. Marner was the winning pitcher, allowing five runs (three earned) in five innings.
Guy Mueller had three hits in the loss for Mercer County.
