There was a strong turnout at a community interest meeting last week in starting a youth soccer program in Aledo.
The meeting was led by Aledo Parks and Recreation Superintendent Scott Earl, whose job responsibilities are shared between the City of Aledo, Aledo Park District, and Mercer County Family YMCA.
Earl spoke with WRMJ at Monday’s Aledo City Council meeting. He said there was no definitive timeline for a start date for youth soccer in Aledo.
The Mercer County School District has not expressed interest in starting a school-affiliated soccer program.
