New Windsor Woman’s Rock Island County Theft Case Continued To Next Month

A New Windsor woman accused of stealing $900,000 during her time as a Rock Island County employee has had her case continued to next month.

62-year-old Leisa Streeter appeared in Rock Island County Court for a pretrial conference on Thursday, where the case was continued to Feb. 5.

Streeter was arrested and charged with seven felony counts after the Rock Island County Sheriff’s Department and Illinois State Police searched her home in May.

Streeter retired in 2024 after working for Rock Island County as an administrative assistant in court services for 34 years. The Rock Island County Sheriff’s Office says she forged documents and opened a fraudulent bank account for personal use in 2003. Streeter is accused of funneling payments into the account and withdrawing the money to pay credit card bills, travel expenses, and other costs.

She has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Streeter was granted pretrial release in May, subject to certain conditions, including home detention and GPS tracking.
