A New Boston man will be sentenced in October after being found guilty of drug-induced homicide and methamphetamine delivery in Mercer County Circuit Court on Monday.
The verdict came for 43-year-old Dale Robert Woodsmall after nearly two hours of jury deliberation in connection with the May 2024 death of 26-year-old Blake Russell of Joy. Woodsmall is convicted of selling meth to Russell and another man on the day Russell was later found dead near Seaton due to methamphetamine intoxication.
The drug-induced homicide charge is a Class X felony, which carries a sentence of up to 30 years in prison. The delivery charges are both Class 2 felonies.
A sentencing hearing for Woodsmall has been set for Oct. 7.
