Aledo Working To Keep DMV, No Progress Yet Ahead Of June 11 Closing

The City of Aledo is working to secure a Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) facility in the city ahead of its closure next week.

The Illinois Secretary of State’s office announced in a press release last month that the Aledo DMV will close on June 11 because the state was unable to reach an agreement with its landlord for a new lease.

Aledo Mayor Chris Hagloch says the city hopes to keep the service in Aledo, whether at the current facility or in a new location, but as of now, there is no update on the process.

Other local DMV locations include Monmouth, Moline, Silvis, Galesburg and Kewanee.
