Rodney Curtis McCaw, 78 of New Windsor, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice Home in Bettendorf, Iowa. A graveside funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, March 28, at the New Windsor (Petrie) Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be left to the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice Home. Rodney was born on October 20, 1946, in Aledo, the son of Floyd and Evelyn Peterson McCaw. He graduated from Winola High School with the Class of 1964. Shortly after high school, Rodney joined the United States Army and proudly served his country as a mechanic while stationed in Germany. He retired from John Deere Cylinder Works after 30 years of service.
He was a member of the New Windsor Presbyterian Church. In his free time, he enjoyed mowing, collecting scrap metal, and the occasional trip to the casino.
He is survived by his children, Mark (Carrie) McCaw of Tennessee and Kristen “Kristi” Reese of Springfield, Illinois; grandchildren, Morgan, Colby, and Connor; brother, James (Sherian) McCaw of Bettendorf, Iowa; and a very special longtime companion, Vicki Keck of Alpha.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jo Ann; brother John “Jack;” and infant sister, Kay.
