Ridgewood (9-1) opened its 2024 I8FA playoff run with a 46-14 win over South Fork (5-5) at home Friday.
The Spartans ballooned an 18-6 lead into a 30-6 advantage at halftime with two touchdowns in the final seven seconds of the second quarter. Owen Anderson found the end zone on a one-yard quarterback sneak. He followed that up with a 27-yard interception return for a TD as time expired in the first half.
Roy Sandberg led Ridgewood with 156 rushing yards and three TDs on 15 carries.
The Spartans will play either Milledgeville or South Beloit in the I8FA quarterfinals next week. Ridgewood has advanced to the quarterfinals all three years its played 8-man football.
