Local State Senator Chuck Weaver is retiring. Weaver, who represents Mercer County in the State Senate, announced yesterday that he is removing himself from the ballot and won’t seek re-election. The lawmaker said that he could be most effective serving his community closer to home in a different role. He replaced Congressman Darin LaHood in the State Senate in 2015.
