Aledo Officers Trained To Respond To Opioid Overdoses

The Aledo Police Department, like all departments in Illinois, becoming trained in dealing with opioid overdoses. Chief Chris Sullivan says it’s not a major issue in this area just yet, but his officers are now better prepared in combatting the problem, which has reached epidemic proportions in other areas of the state.

Aledo had a heroin related death in the summer of 2014 that resulted in a criminal investigation with two individuals being sentenced to ten years in a federal prison.
