Swanson Opposed To Legislation Impacting Bishop Hill

The Bishop Hill State Historic Site in Henry County could be severely impacted under legislation moving through the statehouse. The bill allows only items manufactured in the United States to be sold in concession areas within Illinois’ state parks, meaning products coming from Sweden would be prohibited. State Representative Dan Swanson of Alpha doesn’t like that.

Swanson says if the bill becomes law, the future of Bishop Hill is not too promising.

The measure was approved in the Illinois House on a vote of 73-40 and now moves on to the State Senate for their consideration.
