Screening For Viola Independent Film Held

About 50 people packed a small theater in downtown Davenport for a private screening of a movie shot mostly in an empty Viola bank. “Paper Plates,” is directed by Brian Nguyen who has been submitting the movie to film festivals.

The movie is about bank robbers wearing paper plates on their faces. Several Mercer County residents played small parts in the movie, including WRMJ’s Terry James. James spoke with Nguyen just before the screening on Sunday.

Nguyen thanked the Mercer County community for helping him make the film.

The main filming locations were the former Union Federal branch building and Bone Collector BBQ, both in Viola.
