The Mercer County Youth Livestock Auction celebrated its 31st year at the Mercer County Fair Friday Night. A large crowd turned out for the event that celebrated youth in agriculture. The auction set a new record as $73,610 was raised during the event. Over 60 exhibitors participated.

The grand champion steer shown by Luke Jungmann sold for $4.75 a pound, 1360 pounds and was purchased by Diamond Ag, Roeder Brothers Seed, Nutrien Ag, Double T Cattle.

The grand champion pen of rabbits shown by Megan Gray went for $600 and was purchased by Goldstar FS.

The grand champion barrow shown by Logan Campbell went for $4.00 a pound and was purchased by Friends of 4H.

The grand champion poultry shown by Ella Klauer went for $675 and was purchased by The Clark Family.
The grand champion market lamb shown by Macy DeBlock went for $8.50 a pound and was bought by County Line Seed, Compeer Financial, and Franck Family Farms.
The grand champion goat was shown by Lilly Grobosky and it went for $17.00 a pound, 76 pounds, and was purchased by local breeders, Advantage Chiropractic, and Grandma Grabosky.
Reason’s Meats is giving every 4-H livestock auction participant a $50 gift certificate to Reason’s Meats or Reason’s Prairie Creek Deli for processing, retail meats, or snacks & sandwiches.
