The rezoning of the former Hawthorn Ridge Golf Course will get more attention from the Mercer County Zoning Board this week. Local businessman Mark Bieri now owns the property and he wants to turn the site into a campground. Bieri is seeking a zoning change from agricultural to commercial, but opposition was expressed at a zoning board meeting last month by four neighbors and an attorney. The matter was then tabled so more information could be gathered says zoning officer and county administrator Ron Fullerlove.
The zoning board meets at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Mercer County Courthouse.
