Small schools will be impacted by a change in IHSA classification next school year. In four class sports (boys & girls basketball, volleyball, softball & baseball), the 2A/3A cutoff will rise to 697 across the board. It had been 546 for boys basketball, 564 for baseball, 546 for girls basketball, 564 for softball and 527 for volleyball. The 1A/2A cutoff will increase to 299 in those four class sports. The sport of wrestling will see the 1a/2a cutoff jump from 647 to 788 next school year.
