Two felony charges have been filed against an out-of-state man stemming from an incident at the Dollar General in Aledo late last month. 49-year-old Miguel Angel Valadez Cortes of Beloit, Wisconsin was taken into custody May 27. He has been charged with aggravated battery in a public place and unlawful restraint. The allegations involve a woman in the store. Cortes is also facing a misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct. He has posted bond and at a court appearance this week his attorney indicated he will need an interpreter. A preliminary hearing is set for July 12.
