Winter Storm Expected Friday…
Mixed precipitation will overspread the area Friday morning,
reaching the Interstate 80 corridor between 8 to 10 a.m. Mainly
freezing rain is forecast over the far east-central and southeast
outlook area where several tenths of ice accumulation are
expected. Over the southwest and central sections, which includes
the Quad Cities, mixed precipitation will change to snow during
the late morning to early afternoon. The precipitation will come
to an end by early tonight.

…WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT CST FRIDAY…
* WHAT…Heavy mixed precipitation expected with total snow and
sleet accumulations of 2 to 5 inches, highest along and north of
a line from Memphis, Missouri to Wapello, Iowa. Total ice
accumulations up to a tenth of an inch, with up to a quarter
inch possible across southern Lee and Clark Counties.
* WHERE…Portions of northeast Missouri, southeast Iowa and
northwest Illinois.
* WHEN…Until midnight CST tonight.
* IMPACTS…Plan on very difficult travel conditions with snow
covered roads and reduced visibilities down to a half mile in
the heaviest bands of snow. The hazardous conditions will impact
the morning and evening commute. Ice accumulations over
southern Lee and Clark Counties could weigh down tree branches
and power lines.
