Rockridge (2-0) rallied in the second half to stun Princeton (0-2) 35-29 on the road Friday. The Rockets trailed 29-15 with 9:02 to play in the third quarter before scoring the final 21 points of the game. Cullen Schwigen scored the game-winning touchdown from three yards out with 45 seconds left in the fourth quarter to break a 29-29 tie. Schwigen accounted for all five Rockridge touchdowns – three passing and two rushing.
Mercer County (1-1) defeated Sherrard (0-2) 28-6 at Clifford King Field. The Golden Eagles led 14-0 at halftime and never trailed in the game. Tannen Whitehall and John Baldwin each rushed for two touchdowns in the win. Sherrard’s lone score came on an 85-yard kickoff return by Landon Clark.
Orion (1-1) dropped a game on the road to Monmouth-Roseville (2-0) 48-28. Landon Montroy paced the Titans with 242 rushing yards and four TDs on 24 carries.
