Monmouth-Roseville (1-0) outscored Mercer County (0-1) 44-6 in the second half to defeat the Golden Eagles 50-14 at Coach Dobry Field in Monmouth Friday.
Mercer County led 8-6 at halftime before turning the ball over five times in the second half. The Titans finished the game with 322 rushing yards, 241 of them came in the second half. Payton Thompson rushed for 151 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries.
Mercer County’s two scores came on a one-yard touchdown run from Payton Sedam and a 54-yard pass from John Baldwin to Daylen Blaser.
Rockridge (1-0) won its 11th straight matchup over Sherrard (0-1) 42-6 at Clifford King Field Friday.
Quarterback Cullen Schwigen scored six TDs for the Rockets. He rushed 109 yards and three TDs and went 9-21 passing for 175 yards and 3 TDs.
Orion (1-0) beat Hall (0-1) on the road 42-14 to open the season Friday.
The Chargers scored 36 points in the first half.
