Virginia L. Doonan, 82 of Keithsburg, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at Wesley Village Health Care, Macomb. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, May 14, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Reynolds. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Edgington Cemetery. Memorials may be left to ARC of the Quad Cities.
Virginia was born on October 30, 1939 in Marston, the daughter of Floyd and Margaret (Timmerman) Johnson. She married Emery “Hoe” Doonan on December 28, 1957 in Trinity Episcopal Church, Rock Island.
She had been employed at Delway Ltd as a bookkeeper and had stayed home to raise her children.
She was a member of the former St. John’s Episcopal Church, Preemption. She loved spending time with her family and playing cards with her grandchildren and was a tremendous baker.
Survivors include her husband, Emery “Hoe”; children, Victor Doonan, Rock Island, Kirk (Annette) Doonan, Viola, and Jennifer (Don) Taylor, Kirkwood; grandchildren, Justin (Jessica) Taylor, Alex (Kassi) Doonan, David (Ashlee) Doonan, Andrew (Ana) Doonan, Alisa Randolph, Victoria Taylor, and Michael Taylor; seven great grandchildren; siblings, Kendall Phelps, Warren Johnson, and Mindy Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jim, John, Floyd, and Robert; and sisters, Delores Carraher and Marsha Bolt.
