A local village official has been arrested for official misconduct and theft of government funds. A Mercer County Sheriff’s Department report indicates 57-year-old Michael Lester was taken into custody on Wednesday. He serves as Mayor of Viola. Lester is being held in the Mercer County Jail pending a court appearance. No other information has been released at this time.
