Viola Man’s Final Pre-Trial Conference In Sex Abuse Case Delayed To Monday, Jury Trial Remains Later This Month

A final pre-trial conference for a Viola man facing two felony sexual abuse counts has been delayed to next week.

33-year-old Gregory Wilson appeared in Mercer County Circuit Court on Tuesday, where his final pre-trial conference was rescheduled to Monday. A jury trial remains set for May 25-26.

Wilson was arrested in September 2024 following an investigation by the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department. He’s charged with two Class 2 felony counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

Wilson was originally granted pretrial release with home detention in 2024, but was taken into custody in August 2025 after the prosecution filed a petition to revoke his pretrial release. He’s currently in custody at the Mercer County Jail.
