Ridgewood scored 11 runs in the top of the third inning to take control of Sherrard in a 13-3 win on the road in softball on Wednesday.
The Spartans (18-5) brought 15 batters to the plate in the inning and collected 10 hits in the 11-run outburst, which erased an early 2-0 deficit.
Avery Humphrey (4 RBI), Cambell Casteel (2 RBI), and Kora Harreld (3 RBI) all had three hits in the win. Casteel was the winning pitcher for Ridgewood, allowing three runs on four hits in seven innings. She racked up 12 strikeouts in the win.
Sherrard (13-9) had a five-game winning streak snapped with the loss.
