All the top seeds were winners in the girls Lincoln Trail Conference basketball tournament in Aledo. The host Golden Eagles recovered from a slow start to top West Central 50-21. Mercer County lead 19-15 at the half but gave up just six points the rest of the way. Alyssa Hess lead the Eagles with 17. In the other two games at the intermediate school gym Stark County topped Rowva 50-29 and Annawan rolled over West Central 69-25. At the high school gym Wethersfield downed Ridgewood 60-46, Princeville beat Galva 55-27 and Ridgewood edged United 49-41. Tournament pool play continues Wednesday and Thursday with the championship round scheduled for Saturday.
At the Martin Luther King Jr. Tournament in Kewanee, Geneso handled Orion 62-25.
