There were no surprises in round three of the girls Lincoln Trail Conference Tournament in Aledo Wednesday night. Mercer County turned it on in the second half to beat Rowva 46-31, top seeded Annawan got off to a slow start before running by Stark County 64-36, Wethersfield handled Galva 45-22 and Princeville stopped Ridgewood 58-40. Tonight is the final night of pool play with the championship round set for Saturday.
In wrestling Fulton beat Rockridge 51-29 and the Rockets lost to Riverdale 42-32. Orion beat St. Bede 59-9 and Morrison 52-18.
At the Prairieland Conference Tournament, Monmouth-Roseville beat Mercer County 40-30 to with the 7th grade title and Monmouth-Rosevile beat Rockridge 31-24 to win the 8th grade championship.
In Junior High Volleyball, Sherrard defeated Mercer County 25-23, 23-25, 25-15 in 7th grade play and Mercer County beat Sherrard 9-25, 25-21, 25-15 in the 8th grade match.
