Many residents in Aledo are finding their trash hasn’t been picked up. Aledo City Administrator Mike Chausse explains why.
“There are a couple reasons. One, they need to have it in an approved container. Either an LRS or a Jackson container – the Jackson containers are still good. So that’s the first thing. The second thing is they might have put it too close to a telephone pole or maybe a fence, or maybe even another can. That’s another reason, because they have to grab it and they couldn’t grab it. Or they just put a bag out and they won’t take bags out on the street, which is actually against city ordinance anyway. If they were passed over today or tomorrow on the South side of town, then they’ll probably have to wait a week to get it picked up again.”
Chausse says there needs to be three feet of space on each side of the approved garbage can in order for it to be picked up.
