If you’d like to help the firemen in Viola and Greene Township, they’re always looking for someone to put on the gear and join the team. However, there are other ways to help. Saturday morning, a pancake breakfast will be held to raise money for the fire equipment they need. Jason Staver and Jim Morrison are hoping the community will show their support.
Jason: “Everything has some kind of a shelf life or a limit to it. You know, our turn out gears got a 10 year limit on it. Our helmets got a 10 year limit on it. Even our air packs have a 15 year limit on them.”
Jim: Yeah, we do appreciate our community. They’ve always been really good to us with our pancake breakfast and other events we have and and it really helps us pay the bills we have to pay We have standards. We have to keep up with the state. So that’s tough to meet. So we do appreciate the support we get.”
Breakfast will be served until 11am. Donations are being accepted to help the fire departments meet their equipment needs. A grill will also be given away.
