Sherrard Students Roll Up Sleeves for Former Student Sara

The parents of Sara Wyant hold a picture of their daughter in the Sherrard High School gym.

It’s been 20 years since the Wyant family lost their daughter Sara. The Sherrard High School student had just gotten her license when she died following a car accident in 2003. Her mother Tracy was at the blood drive at Sherrard High School that is named in Sara Wyant’s honor.

Tracy Wyant says she didn’t get her miracle but was able to deliver a miracle for three others.

According to the American Red Cross, one pint of blood can save up to three lives.

An organizer of the Sara Wyant Blood Drive at Sherrard High School says even some of the students who were scared to give blood ended up coming and donating at the event.
