There’s a couple of local connections with Rockridge High School’s opponent in the second round of the IHSA football playoffs.
Seneca High School head football coach Terry Maxwell played against Rockridge in the 1994 playoffs when he was in high school at St. Joseph-Ogden. One of his assistant coaches, Eric Vroman, is a Rockridge graduate and was an assistant coach on the 1994 Rockridge team that won the state championship. Vroman’s late father, Tate, spent 11 years as the head football coach of the Rockets from 1967-71 and 1982-87.
Maxwell talked to WRMJ about those connections to Rockridge.
Rockridge and Seneca kickoff at 2 p.m., Saturday afternoon in Edgington. Coverage begins at 1 p.m., Saturday on WRMJ.
