Alex Johnson was officially hired as the next principal of Sherrard High School at the school district’s Board of Education meeting Wednesday.
Johnson currently serves as associate principal and varsity boys basketball coach at Sherrard. He will continue leading the boys basketball program.
Sherrard Superintendent Carl Johnson recommended Alex Johnson for the position earlier in the month. He will replace Tim Wernentin, who is retiring at the end of the school year.
Johnson is a 2004 Sherrard grad.
