Sherrard High School graduate Eric Lawson has been named the superintendent of the West Central School District.
The West Central School District Board of Education approved a three-year contract with Lawson at a special school board meeting on Wednesday. Lawson is replacing Stacey Day, who will begin her new role as deputy superintendent of the Mercer County School District on July 1.
Lawson previously served as superintendent of Eagle Ridge School, a K-8 district in Carbon Cliff.
Lawson, a three-time all-state basketball player at Sherrard, graduated from the school in 1993.
