Sherrard Falls To Top-Ranked Peoria Notre Dame In Regional Final

Sherrard (17-13) had its girls basketball season ended in the regional championship of the IHSA 2A IVC Regional in a 66-33 loss to #1 Peoria Notre Dame (29-4) Friday.

The Tigers opened the game on a 10-2 but Notre Dame answered by scoring 10 straight points to close the first quarter and led 12-10. The Irish outscored Sherrard 27-8 in the second quarter to pull away and took a 39-18 lead at halftime.

Violet Meskan scored 15 points for the Tigers in the loss.

Notre Dame was led by Mya Wardle with 20 points. Emy Wardle added 12 points for the Irish.
