Sherrard (3-2, 1-0 TRAC West) and Rockridge (3-3, 1-0 TRAC West) each won their Three Rivers Athletic Conference (TRAC) West opener Monday.
The Tigers beat Morrison (3-3, 0-1 TRAC West), 50-40 on the road. Adalynn Elsbury scored 14 points for Sherrard in the win. Rachael Fender, 12 points, and Navi Lyon, 10 points, were also in double figures for the Tigers.
The Rockets defeated Orion (2-3, 0-1 TRAC West) at home, 43-21. The Chargers led 8-6 at the end of the first quarter, but Rockridge outscored Orion 11-2 in the second quarter to take a 17-10 lead at halftime and didn’t trail again. Keaten Needham had 16 points for the Rockets in the victory.
