Mercer County hunters harvested 600 deer during the first weekend of the Illinois firearm deer season in Illinois Nov. 17-19. That compares to 509 last year and 538 in 2021.
First weekend numbers totaled 320 in Henderson County; 321 in Henry County; 821 in Knox County; 526 in Rock Island County; and 337 in Warren County.
Statewide, hunters harvested 53,348 deer during the first firearm weekend. Comparatively, hunters took 52,354 deer during the first firearm weekend in 2022.
Illinois’ seven-day firearm deer season will conclude Nov. 30-Dec. 3.
