Defending 2A state champion Rockridge (13-2) defeated defending 1A state champion St. Bede (12-2) in softball Saturday, 9-0.
The Rockets led, 4-0, after scoring two runs in both the first and second innings. Rockridge broke the game open with five runs in the top of the seventh.
Taylor Dietrich and Madelyn David both drove in a pair of runs in the win.
Dietrich (4-0) was the winning pitcher for Rockridge. She threw a complete game shutout, while allowing two hits and striking out 10.
