Rockridge snapped a 16-game losing streak with a 68-58 win over Hall to open the IHSA boys basketball postseason in Spring Valley on Monday.
After a back-and-forth first quarter, the Rockets (5-23) held a 14-12 lead at the end of the period. Rockridge led the rest of the game. The Rockets led 28-19 at halftime and 48-35 at the end of the third quarter.
Rockridge made 10 three-pointers in the win. Wade Richhart poured in a game-high 29 points for the Rockets, while Luke McKay added 13 points.
The win was Rockridge’s first since Dec. 29.
The Rockets advance to play Riverdale in the 2A Rockridge Regional semifinals on Wednesday.
Braden Curran scored 23 points in the loss for Hall (13-18).
