Roberta “Andy” Rader, 96 of Aledo, IL, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2023 at the Mercer Manor Rehabilitation in Aledo. Private burial will be at the Aledo Cemetery. Roberta was born November 15, 1926 in Monmouth, IL, to Irving and Cora Riley Anderson. She graduated from Little York High School and Western Illinois Teacher’s College in 1947. On April 29, 1949 she was united in marriage to Rex L. Rader in Little York, IL. He died October 22, 1999.
She taught school for nine years at the Reynolds and Westmer Schools. She was then employed as a secretary in the superintendent’s office of the Westmer School District. After retiring from school, she worked at the Joy State Bank in New Boston.
She was a member of the Joy United Methodist Church and was a former treasurer for the City of Joy. Roberta enjoyed reading and watching sports on TV.
Survivors include one son, Rodney (Christine) Rader of Nashville, TN; two grandchildren, Ryan Rader of Naperville, IL, and Crystal Rader of Mount Juliet, TN; seven great grandchildren, Alexia, Brasen, Celine, Brent, Aleksander, Dominika, and Aurora; one great great grandson, Noah; one sister, Caroline Moe of Rochelle, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and one grandson, Travis.
