Robert “Bob” I. Spencer, 86 of New Windsor, passed away Thursday, August 29, 2024, at Aledo Rehabilitation and Health Care. Cremation has been accorded. Services will be held at a later date. Bob was born on March 16, 1938, in Moline, Illinois, to Malvin and Dorothy (Wemer) Spencer. He graduated from Winola High School in Viola, Illinois, in 1956. He married Sheila Johnson in 1962. While working at John Deere, Bob started Spencer Brothers Disposal Service with his twin brother Rollin. He owned and operated this business for 65 years. He was an avid reader and extremely hard worker.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Scott (Dianna) Spencer of Aledo; grandchildren, Kia (Darren) Winsor, Amber (Andrew) Bittick, Nick Spencer, and Robert (fiancé Cassy Walsh) Smet; great-grandchildren, Christian Bittick, Owen Winsor, Lincoln Bittick, Lilly Smet, and Emmy Winsor; and one sister, Beverly Wildermuth.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Tom and Rollin Spencer; one brother-in-law, Jim Wildermuth; and one sister-in-law, Linda Spencer.
