The Mercer County Sheriff’s Department conducted extra traffic enforcement during the St. Patrick’s Day weekend. The added patrols resulted in over a dozen citations for various traffic offenses including speeding, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and no valid driver’s license. Also, one person was arrested on a Rock Island County warrant. The detail was funded through a grant from the Illinois Department of Transportation.
