A New Windsor man awaiting trial in Mercer County in a child porn investigation could see his case moved to federal court. That subject was brought up Monday morning during James Pierson’s pre-trial conference in Mercer County Circuit Court. A Dec. 7 status hearing has been set.
Pierson is facing three Class X felony counts. He was arrested last February following an investigation involving the Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation, Mercer County Sheriff’s Office, Kewanee Police Department, New Windsor Police Department, Illinois Attorney General’s office, and federal authorities. Pierson remains in the Mercer County Jail on $500,000 bond.
