A woman charged in a New Windsor arson has been transported to the Mercer County Jail. Desiree D. Millhouse was extradited from the Davis County Jail in Bloomfield, Iowa where she was picked up on a warrant last week, according to a Mercer County Sheriff’s Department press release.
Her arrest stems from a structure fire that occurred July 13 in the 300 Block of South 8th Avenue.
The fire was immediately deemed suspicious by fire and law enforcement personnel on the scene and was officially ruled arson by the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
The New Windsor Police Department and Mercer County Sheriff’s Department were also involved in the investigation.
Millhouse’s bond is $75,000.
A preliminary hearing is set for Sept. 5 in Mercer County Circuit Court.
