Neil T. Mannon, 84 of Joy, died Monday, February 9, 2026, at Mercer Manor of Aledo. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, February 16, at New Boston Cemetery, New Boston, Illinois. Military Honors will be provided by the Aledo American Legion. Memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV). Speer Funeral Home, Aledo, is assisting the family.
Neil Terry Mannon was born on June 25, 1941, in Muscatine, Iowa, to Mark and Marguerite (Frye) Mannon. He joined the United States Navy, serving on the USS Constellation from 1960 through 1964. Neil and Dona Plank were married on November 3, 1967, in Joy, Illinois. She preceded him in death on October 9, 2014.
Neil managed Alexander Lumber in Joy for over 35 years. He loved working with wood and was always building something or reinventing something. If he wasn’t building he was repairing something for family or friends. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing in Sturgeon Bay.
Neil is survived by his children and spouses, Ginger and Bill Murray of Coal Valley and Devin and Robbin Mannon of Aledo; grandchildren, Angie Belshause, Jenna Marlow, Hollie Nelson, Valerie Walker, and Brittany Dowd; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dona; and brother, David Mannon.
